File-X’s VFR stands for Virtual File-X Room.

The VFR is a non-propriety freeware/database utility, engineered to provide an active link between crucial indexed data and the corresponding scanned or converted images. It is a professional-looking and functional tool used to access important digital data.

The VFR has the ability to do a compound search up to three tiers (e.g. Year, Month, and Document Type). The VFR can also be used as a simple search mechanism (e.g. Social Security Number).

The VFR will display search results in four different views for your convenience, including html for easy reporting. Images can either be in Tiff or PDF format. PDF is recommended because of it ability to open in a browser window and be shared across many different platforms. It is also recommended because of the wide variety of options available through Adobe’s free Reader© and suite of tools.
