File-X Save the Day for Hershey Food Corp!
“Please extend our sincere appreciation to each and everyone of your staff for your assistance in bringing Supplier Information Forms, ‘SIFs’ into the ‘on line’ age for us. Last week, we had a clear demonstration of the value of having this information electronically accessible.

During a rabbinical visit at one of our out-of-town facilities, a drum of flavor was discovered that was not marked Kosher, and it had been used in a Kosher product. When the supplier was contacted, they stated the ingredient was not Kosher and had never been. Yikes! Luckily, the plant was able to contact me, and while we were on the phone, I was able to locate and e-mail the recently scanned SIF with the Kosher certificate to satisfy the Rabbi, also reminding the supplier of the Kosher certification. This simple e-mail averted a potential costly product hold and line shutdown.

Last week, we rolled the system out to over two hundred users, and have had extremely positive feedback on the accessibility of the information, as well as the user-friendly nature of the front-end database provided by File-X.
